When you’re preparing for a move, it’s important to gather all the moving supplies that will help you to best complete your move. The following moving supplies are commonly forgotten, but they shouldn’t be! They will help you pack, move and unpack more efficiently.

5 Moving Supplies You Didn't Know You Needed1. Space Bags

If there is one thing that will make packing more efficient, it’s conserving space. Space bags allow you to pack bulkier items like towels, linens, blankets and out of season clothes using minimal space. Once your move is complete, you can reuse them to store less used items.

2. Mattress Bags

During your move you will likely drag, push and drop your mattress, which is why you should cover it with a mattress bag. This will ensure your mattress doesn’t get dirty. The bags also have handles that make carrying the mattress easier. Make sure to use one on the box spring, as well.

If you only have two people helping move, these might be your best bet when moving larger, heavier items. The Forearm Forklift straps provide you with a way to lift and move heavy items. These are great for lifting items that are harder to place on dollies like your mattress or couch.

4. Utility Dolly

While you can carry boxes one-by-one to the moving truck, I suggest you rent a utility dolly. This way you can quickly move multiple boxes at once, carry heavy items up ramps, and prevent back injuries cause by poor lifting techniques.

When you’re shopping for moving supplies, you might not think about buying something to help with the unpacking. Using an easy cut-knife will help you easily open boxes and help you flatten them out for recycling. Trust me, it works a lot better than your car keys!

The forearm forklift looks really cool. I wish I could have had me one of those sooner. Now that I know they exist, I should buy one. I like how it allows you to lift with your arms, and your hands are still free.
