Ideas for Tonight – Grilled Apple Recipe

Grilled Apples Recipe Card (5) Grilled apples are an easy and tasty dessert you can make whenever you have the grill fired up. Camping, tailgating or summer barbecuing, it is simple enough to work for most occasions. It can be healthier and quicker than baking an apple pie, but will give you the same great flavors when you taste the first warm bite. Pin the recipe card above to save for later! What You Need

  • 2-4 honey crisp apples or whatever is your favorite variety (1 per person)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter – melted
  • 2-3 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • 2-3 tablespoons of honey

PreparationTasty Grilled Apples Recipe

  1. Wash the apples and cut them into rounds about 1/2 to 3/4 an inch thick.
  2. Melt the butter in a small container and use your brush to liberally coat your apple slices.
  3. Sprinkle cinnamon across the apples, flipping them so that they are spiced on both sides.

Grilling

I prefer a propane grill for this. You don’t really want charcoal taste on apples. Make sure your grill is around 350-400 degrees F with your thermometer and place your apples on the grill. You don’t really want direct heat because you don’t want to burn your apples. For me the grilled apples were ready to be flipped after around 8-10 minutes. You want them to be golden brown and slightly soft, but not overly mushy or charred. After you flip them, they can grill for around 8 more minutes.

Serve

Arrange about an apple’s worth of slices on a plate and drizzle with honey to taste. I ate mine by themselves, but my wife thinks that vanilla ice cream is a great accompaniment. For more desserts you can make on the grill, check out this post.
