Make sure your propane tank is filled before you start making your smoked creations. If your tank is older than 10 years, it must be re-qualified before it can be refilled. Once it has been inspected, head to your nearest refill station to have an attendant refill it.

Recipes

Brisket

Smoking brisket takes time and patience but it is very rewarding when it’s done right. Known as one of the most popular dishes in the smoker community, this delicious meal will have you coming back for seconds and thirds. Follow these steps to make a tasty brisket you’ll be proud of!

Ingredients:

  • 1 brisket (any size)
  • 6 cups of wood chips/chunks (any flavor)
  • Vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp. kosher salt
  • 4 tsp. paprika
  • 4 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. coarse ground black pepper
  • Aluminum foil
  • Aluminum pan

Instructions:

  • Preheat smoker to 225 degrees
  • Apply rub to the brisket while your smoker is preheating
  • Make sure your brisket is seasoned on all sides so you can taste the flavor
  • Once it is seasoned, place the brisket into the smoker for 3-4 hours
  • When your brisket has reached 160 degrees internally, remove it from the smoker and wrap it in aluminum foil
  • Place your brisket back into the smoker for another 3 hours and remove when it has reached 200 degrees internally
  • Let your brisket sit for 1-2 hours so it can cool off and soak up all the seasoning before you trim and eat it

Macaroni and Cheese

Macaroni and cheese is always a staple side dish when it comes to cookouts and BBQs. Learn how to take it to the next level by giving it that natural smoky and creamy taste that your guests will love. It is guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of elbow macaroni
  • 1 block of cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 cooking spray
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 3 cups of milk
  • Aluminum foil
  • Aluminum pan
  • Wood chips

Instructions:

  • Preheat smoker to 225 degrees
  • Cook the macaroni and cheese how you normally would
  • Once you are finished, pour the macaroni in the aluminum pan
  • Add a layer of cheddar cheese on top
  • Place pan in the smoker for 1-3 hours (time depends on how much of the smoked flavor you want and how brown you want the top to be)
  • Remove pan from smoker and it’s ready to be served

*Feel free to add in any other ingredients you’d like, such as jalapeños, bread crumbs, bacon, hot sauce, garlic, herbs, before placing the pan into the smoker!

Turkey

Thinking about smoking a turkey for dinner or Thanksgiving? After you’ve tasted this flavorful dish, you’ll never want to prepare your turkey any other way. This recipe takes a while to smoke but it’s definitely worth the wait. Check out how you can make this delicious smoked turkey!

Ingredients:

  • 1 turkey (remove neck and giblets)
  • Canola oil
  • Choice of rub
  • 2 tablespoons of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of pepper
  • ½ cup of butter
  • Wood chips
  • Aluminum pan

Instructions:

  • Preheat smoker to 225 degrees
  • Rinse the turkey then pat it dry
  • Put the turkey in an aluminum pan
  • Add seasonings and rub all over the turkey
  • Place turkey in the smoker
  • Smoke for 10 hours or until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 180 degrees in the thickest part of the thigh
  • Remove pan from smoker and let it sit for 20 minutes before carving
